At Blossom Barn Nursery we believe that the children’s interest should be at the heart of everything we do. Our learning environment is reflective of the children’s perspective and they learn through child initiated experiences. Our highly trained staff expertly expand and develop activities and questioning according to each child’s individual interests and abilities.

Our teaching approach is a blended curriculum. We will be using a mixture of approaches of which we think suit our individual children. There are some elements of Montessori that we love and will implement but we also love the Reggio-Emilia approach where children are capable of constructing their own learning and we are also passionate about the Curiosity Approach with a meaningful space and the child being at the centre of every activity.

Children are given the opportunity to speak and listen in a range of situations.

Children have free access to the outdoor garden area. We have beautiful garden areas that children can access throughout the day in all weathers! There are proven physiological, social and academic benefits to taking learning outside. Children can choose where they wish to explore at any time of day.

We want to provide children with new experiences and what a better way than to use our very own Blossom Barn Mini Bus to follow children’s interests ‘in the moment’. Children have visited farms, parks, memorial sites and many more place! The mini bus is driven by appropriate staff and can take up to 7 children at a time. We provide all relevant car seats and ask parents to keep us updated on children’s height and weight.

Children also enjoy exploring the outdoors through going on trains and buses to local parks and landmarks. Children have previously enjoyed visiting a local windmill!

The best way to make children good is to make them happy.
